Like with our mural on East Colfax for Vision Zero, the piece myself, Pat McKinney, Josh Deitchman and Lee New painted on West Colfax was another artistic effort to keep our streets and neighborhoods pedestrian-friendly, safer and remind drivers to keep their eyes OFF their phones when they’re on the road and travel safely.
The image was based off of yard signs that read “PLEASE SLOW THE FUNK DOWN,” that myself and Dan The Signtologist created as part of a separate Vision Zero campaign. After distributing over 700 signs, it was clear the community resonated with the message and that it needed to be painted on a larger scale.
